Show 0 B 2 r V UAL rr S y FORD HAx at escalante garfield county U T april 1886 ot of bilious fever sister mar mary y moore bleak fordham bam she was the beloved wife of joseph E fordham of escalante and the daughter daught br of elder james G and elizabeth M bleak of st george she was born at mile end london england june 1855 she was a faithful faith faithful fui mem member berof of them the church of jesus christof christ of latter day saints treasurer and teacher of the relief belief society and counselor in the primary association of escalante ward all of which duties she she leaves a sorrowing wing husband and six small all children orro to mourn her loss her y youngest est child being a boy born march 11 lanag 1886 she he was a faitha faithful al wife and affectionate mother her mother had the melancholy satisfaction of attending her in her last sickness she was buried at escalante april 3 and her remains were followed and attended to the grave ve by over people forming the ingga largest tc cortege ever seen at a funeral in the town the funeral ceremonies were conducted by the bishopric of the ward and i touching and appropriate prop remarks were made by the aspea speakers ers E on that occasion she died in full faith and fellowship in the church and in full hope of rising with the just on the morning of the first tion com RICHARDS sister wife of john richards Kic hards was born at johnston scotland june 6 1808 ana and died march 30 1886 at her residence in mendon cache co utah in 1821 she in connection with her father alexander hill and family immigrated from scotland the home of her birth and settled in canada in the early rise of the chu church ach she pave gave ear to the glad tidings of peace as proclaimed by elder samuel lake and april 1840 was baptized into the C charch hurch of jesus christ of latter day saints in 1843 1842 she in connection with her husband and her fathers family immigrated to nauvoo like the rest of the saints she there endured hardships suffered privations submitted to vindictive persecutions and shared the heart bearta i ending paint pains to wa which tich the Saints wei e subjected during their expulsion from that place she also parti participated ai in the saints meanderings until her arrival in utah in 1851 she resided at mill creek for a period of eight years and in 1859 removed to mendon cache county at which place she resided resided until her demise she was the mother of eleven children eight of whom are living fifty nine grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren her last days were spent in pronouncing blessings upon her children urging them to faithfulness and showing the necessity of keeping gods commands her words were 1 I go like ike a shock of corn fully ride she died with the hopes of a glorious resurrection ur a and d an exalted seat in he fathers kingdom to come forth in the morning Wf of the first resurrection and partake of his is parada glory DANIEL B RICHARDS ElCHAK DS |
