Show " ' ' ' '.-I ss The Sacred Concert. Tho meeting houso was crowded on Hunday iiight with an audienco engcr to hear the first sacred .concert given by the present choir, and most of them who listened to it wero not disappointed but praiso tho perfbrmance. The chou'rses rendered by tho choir were excellent, fcpecial attention being given to the harmony and expression. Tho results showed good training and tho rendition was very pleasing. The solos by Mesdames Enifretto Smith, Laura Salzner nnd Millio Garff were given as well as usual. Mr. Goo. W. Williams is a new singer herd but his song shows ho has a good vokv and a musical tasto Tho solo by Oscar Kirkham with choir accompaniment was a prominent number num-ber and was fully appreciated by lovers of music. Iho brief talk by Joseph S. Broadbont on the, benefits df uiuejo in tho missionary field was full of good ideas. During the evening a collection was taken up by John Roberts, Jr., Hober Austin and Win. Gurney. The proceeds amounted to $12.50. We hopo to hear from the choir again in the near future. |
