Show a fk a WELLS FOR in what Is being done at present in brigham city antt ant vicinity FIRST COST IS considerable what ought to be done before june why it should be done editor ot of the news if you can give me space in your paper I 1 should like to give my views also some facts on the foregoing subjects first I 1 believe that the city ot of brigham has underneath it a larger underflow of water than box elder creek itself my reason for believing this is due to the nature of the formation in which water is invariably found it being about fifty per cent gravel and fifty per cent sand and and the wide area in which it is found under practically the same conditions dit ions we have a depth of nearly 10 40 feet of water in the gravel tor for two square miles M my object in making statements is to interest and convince those who are doubtful in our experience so far no one has been able to pump from this water bearing grayel gravel for a distance of more than seven feet what ath rn I 1 P ra rl 1 x tf f we dow 0 n the he addia addit additional onal thirty we have the following wells which have been in service tor for a number of years J P alsens well 22 feet deep irrigating between 10 and 15 acres carl Isaac sons well at a depth of ac 45 feet has been in operation since 1903 pumping fully as much water as the olsen well W 0 and joseph knudson installed a well in 1904 at a depth of about 30 feet which irrigates 25 5 to 30 acres then there is andrew jensens hensens Jen sens well about 30 feet deep installed in 1905 irrigating from 10 to 15 acres also the well of J P jen sen installed in 1905 about 35 feet deep and supplying water tor for 20 acres the following wells are nearing completion alq and are expected soon continued on page four |
