A resolution was adopted granting the West Side Rapid Transit company permission to use and operate upon the following streets, viz: Commencing at the intersection of Seventh South and Second West streets; thence south along Second West to Tenth South or Roper street; thence west along said first named street to west bank of Jordan river; thence west along that certain street designated in ollicial plat of Burlington place as Colorado street to street designated as First street in official offi-cial plat of Glendale Park addition; thence south along First street to county road running along boundary of said Glendale Park, and thence west along said last named county road to city limits; a steam dummy or motor to bo of the pattern and design ordinarily ordin-arily used aud operated upon street railways, to be changed lo any other system when the city council . may see lit. "Were it not for tho displeasure displayed against the rail-roads rail-roads the session would have been a mighty tame affair, and the soulless corporations were told in good, every day, unmistakable Anglo-Saxon that if ,l,ey did not mend their ways and knuckle down to the laws and ordinances ordi-nances of the city and acknowledge that the municipality was a great deal bigger than they were, that the men tho were paid to look after the city's interests would wipe them from the face of the earth, or words to that effect. It ippears that the railroads have been abusing the stipulations of franchises accorded them by the council, and the litter does not propose to stand it any longer. The city recorder reported notices of intention to extend water mains on J, Third South, Fourth South aud Fifth East streets had beon published according accord-ing to law, and no protests had been Wed except those of Mrs. S. White and 've others against the extension of ater mains on Fifth East street. They were unable to pav the assessment. Superintendent Ryan of the water-forks water-forks reported, as to Mr. Osborne's winraunication, that the Eighth street People have never had water in the day lime, but could get it early in the morn-H morn-H or late at night. .
