Merrihew has been ap( fcl' A ' i pointed by the Mountain States Telephone and Telegraph company as the new exchange manager for the East Carbon area, it has been announced. Mr. Merrihew came to East Carbon from Eureka where he has been telephone manager since last year. He is married and has two children. The new telephone exchange at Dragerton opened last Thursday to serve residents in the Dragerand Columbia ton, Sunnyside communities. The new service arrangement replaces toll telephone service which has been provided in the area through an agent who switched calls between the toll station users and also in long distance lines for calls to Price and beyond. Dial switching equipment has been installed in a building at Dragerton constructed especially for it and all telephones to be served from the new Dragerton office have been equipped with dials. ORAL O. MERRUIEW The dial unit at Dragerton is connected to the Price telephone long distance, information or asoffice by seven trunk lines. The dial equipment will switch sistance calls for subscribers in all calls between Dragerton users, the new exchange.
