Show 10A Emery County Progress Tuesday, December 3, 1991 San Rafael starts CVJH honors art organization San Rafael Junior High students have started a new art club matching bulldogs for the schools front doors. Swenson will select two families to serve as hosts for Brazilian teenagers who are coming to spend a high school homestay semester in Utah. She enjoys volleyball, swimming and working out at the gym. Lays an earlier stay in New Hampshire and is looking forward to being part of an enjoyed American family. Igor is just 17. He lives with his parents and an older sister in Sao Paolo where his dad is a lawyer and his mother a designer. Like all Brazilian teens, Igor loves music and dancing. His favorite subject is physics, favorite sports are tennis and soccer. His English is good, so Igor will be able to share lots about his homeland with his American family. Lays and Igor will have their own spending money and medical insurance and will carry a full course load at an area high school. Host families and students have the support of the AYA local coordinator and the national office which runs the program. Lung disease, including lung cancer, is the third leading cause of death in the United States. Nearly one out of every ten Americans suffers from chronic lung disease, said Mr. Stilson. He added, I felt it was important to join the fight against lung disease. Mr. Stilson joins singer and multi-awar- d winner Reba McEntire, who serves as the Associations National Christmas Seal Campaign Chairperson, and other celebrities around the country who volunteer for the American Lung Association during its fundraising season. Mr. Stilson is President and CEO of Stilson & Stilson Advertising Incorporated as well as owner and former owner of several other Utah Businesses. He graduated from Emery County High, Castle Dale, Utah class of 63. After four years in Europe and the Far East in the U. S. Air Force, Mr. Stilson graduated from the University of Utah with a B.S. in AdvertisingMarketing in 1971. He attended UCLA during 1973 and 1974 doing post graduate work in marketing and market research. After spending seven years with other advertising agencies, he started Stilson & Stilson in 1978. He has been an active member of the Salt As Lake Rotary Club, Utah Advertising Federation, UFEA Board of Directors, Steering Committee Chairman ALA, and current Special Events Chairman for the Utah Division ofthe American Lung Association. . Ninety percent of funds raised by the Christmas Seal Campaign remain in Utah, Dr. Burdett noted, and are spent on health education and research programs to fight lung diseases such as the Camp Wyatt,' childhood Asthma Camp, the Better Breathers Club, the Associations many smoking cessation programs, and its classes respiratory self-car-e as well environmental as health land T.B. Awareness programs. The American Lung Association of Utah is dedicated to the fight aginst lung disease. Along with its medical section, the Intermountain Thoracic Society, the Association pro- vides programs of education, community service and Advocacy. Its activities are supported by donations to Christmas Seals and by other voluntary contributions.
