Show AUNT SUSAN GRANT CALLED BY DEATH she passed peacefully away aw ay iy monday n being in her eighty second year funeral held thursday I 1 aunt susan grant mother of pres i H grant of the davis stake passed away at her home in west bountiful monday after noon of general debility her health had been failing faill 0 for the past year hub bub she never suffered zany any pain she was confined to the house for about five iv 0 mouths months and was bedfast about two weeks funeral services were held in the ahe west bountiful meeting louse house yesterday at 2 p m and were very largely attaud attended ed the i speakers s were pres joseph F smith seymour B young coulig emeline B wells pres jas A eld ledge 0 and jesse M smith the ward vard choir rendered some beau atif ticul ul selections and the floral offerings were numerous and beautiful morgan grant from lovell loveli wyo and frank grant from los an angeles C eles and a lar large lare C e number of grand children from rich and cache counties and other places were nvere in attendance deceased had been a resident of this county for a half century entering this valley with the second company of pioneers of 1847 she was stake president of the relief societies for 20 years and a member azember of the general relief society board for a quarter of a century her husband jedediah S sistr or gan grant who died 57 years ago the first of last december was vas the first mayor of salt lake city and he plowed 1 the first furrow ever plowed in morgan M city which county was named after him july 25 deceased would have been 82 years of age n she was born in new york state but later lived in kirtland ohio and other places where the church was located deceased is survived by two sons pres J H grant and frank D grant oue one daughter 0 mrs airs W H muir aluir having passed away a number of years ago she has 25 grand chil children drea and 60 great grand children |
