evening was spent in games of an interesting te nature music and partaking of refreshments there were twenty two present on the dinst mr air and mrs christian olsen of this city will util celebrate the fiftieth anniversary ot of their marriage and in honor ot the event a big golden wedding will be held at the first ward amusement hall invitations are being mailed out to members of the family and a few intimate friends while a committee is arranging the details of the function which will be an elaborate affair tuesday evening in the third ward amusement hall the members of the quorum of seventy arid the ath quorum of elders with their wives nives and sweethearts met together in their annual 1 I reunion dancing was the feature of the the social and during the evening a tray luncheon was served there were one hundred and twenty people participating and the function was a most enjoyable affair last tuesday afternoon mrs W 1 I mcneil entertained at a brides quilting bee in compliment to mrs barbara hopkins wright tile the decorations were carried out in yellow with very striking effect A basket of daffodils formed the center piece on the tea table A bow of tulle formed the handle and from the basket ribbon streamers extended to the end of the table where two smaller baskets were placed the guests enjoyed themselves at quilting and those present were Ales mesdames Is termed a sit silver tea at the home of mrs airs C W knudson next tuesday ai the function will bo be on from 2 until 11 and the entire community Is invited to attend as the proceeds will go to the local red cross ithe the home will be profusely and artistically decorated for far the occasion and the viands to be serve will include ice cream and cake coffee and cake or both A string quartet will be in attendance during the evening and other musical numbers will be rendered so that there will be entertainment as well as refreshments the ladies of 0 tile the club are boosting the event and a special invitation is extended the businessmen iness men to accompany their wives and enjoy a pleasant hour chatting with friends eating the ments and listening to the music special receiving netted the organization a handsome sum for the continuation ot of red cross work vork 1 on tuesday afternoon the members of the auxiliary app appeared earea on tile the streets wearing their white red cross caps and supplied with a big bunch of 0 red cross tags and a long money purse each and every individual whom they met upon the street or in the shops and offices was tagged and then asked to contribute anything from a dim damo up to the cause the dimes rolled into tio tao money pouches so fast that when the campaign ended and the coin was counted the young ladies found they had something like one hundred and fifteen dollars the ball at the academy of music alusic wednesday evening simply taxed tho the capacity of tiie the tile the hall music refreshments decorah decorations ions doorkeeper and everything connected with the affair were all contributed to the cause with the result that several hundred dollars were collects and turned into the red cross aside from the financial end orf of the function it was a most delightful affair and was patronized by everyone in the community who cares the least bit to dance while many of those who have got past the dancing period paid for their tickets and remained at home I 1 i eldon nelson entertained about 25 of ills his little friends wednesday after noon from 3 to 5 in honor of his ath birthday the afternoon was made pleasant
