events which caused american to enter the world war ar and his appeal to the patriotism of the people to stand by the gavern government ment and make it possible to bring about a glorious victory for far tile the cause of liberty libarty parson simpkin declared that he had seen the prussian program tor for world domination with his own eyes and had received from the lips or of ment wilson himself statements of facts acts that there was absolutely no question as to the determination of the german war nar lord to become the ruler ruler of the world the great plan contemplated the crusing of france by 1915 then russia would hould be given attention and would be conquered in 1918 with the combined resources of france and russia and the genius of the prussians together with their soldiers england was destined to succumb in 1920 by the humbling orr of john bull the germans proposed to exact tremendous indeman atles one of which was canada in its entirety the the war aar lord prop ased america the speaker declared declare dhe he had seen with his own eyes the map with the words german america written across the face of the western hemisphere and while parson simpkin did not tell the meeting where this map and other ather information came from it was assumed that the papers were part of ct those which government agents secured in the raid upon the of one of 0 the chief conspirators in this country just before war was declared that this program will tall fall parson simpkin was willing to stake his reputation on as a prophet and yet he declared that is is not going to be play work to root out the curse of Pruss lantsm from the earth that it must be entirely uprooted and destroyed must be obvious to all red blooded americans tor for no free liberty loving man could ever submit to be ruled over by a kaiser or his kind the speaker paid a beautiful tribute to the boys who have gone over there and to the mothers and fathers who have sent them these have shown the rest of 0 us the way and they the greatest sacrifice no true amerlean Amerl can can think of the boys nho have gone and will yet go and feel just comfortable until he has done dane his bit at home the boys have to be fed and clothed and provided with iguls and ammunition uncle saro sam needs money and these are only two ways ho he can get it by taxation and by selling government bonds there is no better investment in the world that thrift stamps and baby bonds and liberty bonds and through rugh this medium uncle sam Is offering the people a an opportunity t to 0 finance the war and thus escape the heavy burden of taxation which Is practiced in germ many today the german workman gets 64 cents per day tor for his hard toll and then the government reaches out aut its hand and takes 1 32 2 cents ot of that wage as an income tax leaving the man only 32 cents a day to keep himself and family upon americans need never come to that if they are loyal to the government for this nation Is rich and the people by being saving and frugal can lend the government all the money it needs and at the same time store up their earnings against the time when it will be very useful A faint idea of the amount of af money necessary to tarry carry on this great glo and meet every requirement that Is made of the united states may be drawn from tho the following illustration since the year 1776 when expenses anses during the first year of the war le ie from last april to tile the present time the united states has spent or nearly one third as much as the government has spent in the one hundred and forty two years of its existence it if war continues for a number of years it can readily be seen what it will mean loyalty and sacrifice on the part of the people now will hasten the end and thus
