Show AMERICAN LEGION IS SPONSORING JNIQUEIIORIAL American Legion Post No. 30, Bingham, Bing-ham, is sponsoring a most unique Memorial day observance, according to Commander George Bolman. Between now and Memorial day, May 30, a grave will be excavated in an eight by twelve foot plot of ground in the cemetery, and cemented. ce-mented. On Memorial day it will be unveiled and dedicated to the unknown soldier, with appropriate American Legion exercises. This is done in memory of the millions who offered their services to this country in time of the world's greatest crisis. It will also offer an opportunity to those who lost their husbands, sons or brothers in the wars of the United States to do them honor by placing flowers on the grave in their memory. The plot .of ground has been acquired ac-quired by the Legion post with a view of perpetuating this observance each Memorial day, and also with the idea of its being used to bury Legion-aires, Legion-aires, who express a desire to be buried bur-ied there. The American Legion post has been actively co-operating with the Ki-wanis Ki-wanis club and Boy Scouts in beautifying beauti-fying the cemetery and keeping it in a presentable .condition. During the week the Kiwanians went in force to the cemetery, removed re-moved the debris which had accumulated accum-ulated since the cleanup day of three or four weeks ago, and leaked after the trees, Which were plarted at that time. All the trees were fornd to be in good condition, which presages a most beautiful appearance for the cemetery within the next few years. Following the cleanup a box luncheon lunch-eon was served the workers by the wives of the members at the Tavern inn. |
