Show Ethics program earns award by Mary Galbraith Hilltop Times Staff At a time when a hot pickle has become grounds for suing, legal staff here are debunking negative lawyer jokes and stereotypes one case, issue and deci- sion at a time by placing ethics first and their efforts were recently recognized as outstanding. The Ogden Air Logistics Center was one of 17 Air Force legal offices recognized with the Outstanding Ethics Program award. The Air Force was a standout during the evaluation no other federal agency received more than seven awards. The Office of Government Ethics, responsible for ensuring all departments of the government comply with ethical requirements, presents awards annually to federal agencies who score an outstanding during a total review of their program. Bases and offices are reviewed on rotating schedules. Hill is assessed every four years. The review evaluated areas including the financial disclosure systems, ethics education and training as well as counseling and advice. The program is managed by the Staff Judge Advocate through the General and Acquisition Law Divisions. The evaluation committee noted Hill strong points in the counseling and advice services as well as a education and training program. Trowbridge said its important for government workers and legal officials to factor ethics into their decisions.
