They win use the wasted space for their city offices. The activity that the building wu built for win go usual. Having the efty on offices in the building wUl help to prevent the vandalism that hu been going on. The building is used mostly for city recreation, so that is the reason for the city to manage and maintain it As to the question of the County Hospital, yes, it was subsidized to the tune of SSS.000 last yew. Wc have been told that you ate the one commissioner most opposed to keeping the building as it is and as it was meant to be. We know that as commis. sioner for Summit County, you have taken an oath to serve all the dtixens of the u : County, fairly. Maybe you are not aware of how much this building is needed and how much it is used. We hope wc can help you understand how important this matter is to us. At a recent meeting, reported in the Park Record, you were reported to have stated that unless Park City would take over the building, were in favor of you padlocking it. You also stated that the County maintained 30 miles of roods In Park Moigsd. Now for the question on the roads. Park City hu 36W miles of County roads to City. We take issue with you on both these statements. First, let us ask you how can you conscientiously, subsidise the County Hospital every year to the tunc of Fifty Thousand Dollars (SS0.000) and ..turn us down for Fifteen Thousand (SIS, 000) a year for our Memorial Building? Second, please tell us where there an 30 miles of County Roads in Park City. We know this is not true. We would like to know how many miles of county roads are maintained in the South Summit ana, and what the annual bill is for them. We know that our taxes an helping to subsidize both these projects, we cannot understand your attitude toward the MemorialBuild-in- maintain. That's not true at ares. First, let us talk about the Memorial Building. It is needed, and at the present time we have applied for S180.000. the through Mountainland Association of Government from HUD for a grant to renovate the building. Shortly after 1 became commissioner, the other two commissioners and I made an Inspection of the Memorial Building. It was in deplorable condition. Windows were broken out, hot water running out of most of the taps, the Boors were very dirty snd paint wu very badly needirt. Last year, S35.000 waa spent on the Memorial Building for repairs, maintenance and upkeep. There has been appropriated S22.000 for the Walker Bank. Because as far as were concerned, happy customers are about the greatest asset a bank can have. 3r Walker Bank Smtar NM OvmH Kmm Cwpmmm V |
