Herald Page Seven f & M Earl McKenzie Earl McKenzie ; Earl McKenzie, 60, of Springville, died Nov; 11, 1991 at Utah Valley Regional Re-gional Medical Center in Provo. ; He was born Jury 4, 1922 to Owen and Flora Harward McKenzie. He married Naomi Pierce Dec 15, 1941 in Alhambra, CA Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti IDS Temple. He attended schools in Springville. He was a Navy veteran of WWII serving in the South Pacific Pacif-ic He worked as a Heavy Duty Mechanic for Whiting and Haymond and James Reed Construction Companies. Compa-nies. He was active in the IDS Church having served in the Young Mens' organization orga-nization and as a counselor and president of the Sunday Sun-day School for 12 years, and as counselor in the High Priest Quorum. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and for the past 12 years has spent his winters in Mesa, Arizona. Survivors include: His wife of Springville; two sons and two daughters: Mrs. Darrell (Kathleen) Hiatt, Payson; John Earl McKenzie, Green River, WY: William Owen (Bill) McKenzie, Springville; and Mrs. Peter (Julie) Fairbanks, Fair-banks, Lake Stevens, WA; 14 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchild re; two sisters: Aileen McDcnzic, Salt lake City; and Josephine Jose-phine Sheets, Pocatcllo, ID. He was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers. He was born Mar. 25, 1908 in Salt Lake City to William Thomas and Lotta Mae McElroy Bowen. He married Melba Ida Young, Jun. 1, 1937 in Salt Lake City. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake IDS Temple. She died in 1974. He married Mildred Irene Mooney Aumend in the Los Angeles Angel-es IDS Temple, Jan. 18, 1975. She died Dec 10, 1990. He worked as a Field Gauger for Mobil Oil Company Co-mpany for 42 years. He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed music and dancing. He raised rabbits and showed them, winning many awards. He was at The word "Canopy" comes from the Greek word konops meaning "Gnat". The story goes the fishermen of ancient Egypt would sleep undisturbed by gnats by sleeping under canopies of fishing nets.
