The countries that will be visited are England, France, Switzerland, Austria, Italy and Germany. It is a 16-day tour and is open to students and adults. Members or the Springville Kiwanis Club met Thursday at the Springville Museum of Art Lila Larsen, right, assistant museum director, was the speaker. She is a member of the club and is shown above with Omar Hansen, club president-elect, who served as toastmaster. Behind them is one of many outstanding paintings displayed in the current exhibit, "Masterpieces of Utah Art," which will be showing through December 21. Mrs. Larsen talked about Utah's rich art heritage and the current exhibit Thursday's meeting will feature Verne Jeffers speaking on "Thistle Flood Events." Local citizens help with tree fest The annual Festival of Trees will be held this year December 4, 5, 6 and 7 from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the Salt Palace Exhibition Hall in Salt Lake City. The festival began in 1971 and last year raised $550,000 to provide pro-vide chairty care for over 1600 children at the Primary Children's Medical Center. Citizens, of Springville and Maplcton have supported the festival each year by donating decorated trees, gift items, homemade home-made goodies and by attending the festival. Sharon Gomez of Mapleton, this year'srea chairman, chair-man, is asking citizaQfor their help again. Carpenter of Springville Spring-ville has been approved as a Certified Cer-tified Ground Water Professional (CGWP). The Review Board met in Washington, D.C. in October and unanimously approved certification. certifi-cation. Carpenter was one of 25, from a field of 29, who qualified for certification.
