Tlio ore and bullion receipts, while show ing a gain over those of the pre-sent week, are still below the average. From the higher camps shipments have been prac-tically suspended until spring, and several mines which have been producing more or less have almost, closed flown until spring. On sonic of the mines a few men are but these are employed principally on development w ork. There has been only one new feature in mining circles this week thst has attracted any attention, that being the suit now ou trial in the district court between the North-land Nevada and the Mayflower. That has monopolized the attention of the court for the past six days, and will probably coutinuc all of next week before It. is given to the jury. The suit involves some of the most in-tricate (iicstions in mining law as well as property of immense, value, and for that reason mining men are watching the out-come w ith the greatest interest The lead market seems to be quite firm, and it has a tendency to cirourage a fairly good production from districts like Bing-ham which produce galena ores. Mining men are generally disposed to be dissatisfied with the rates tor ore by (he smelter. For the higher grade varieties, the price offered is fairly satisfac-tory, hut for the lower grades the demand is not nearly so good as it was a few mouths ago. Any estimate made at. this time on the production of the territory for the year might possibly be very far from correct; however, it seems sate to say that the output w ill not greatly exceed that of ls'.U. The Horn Silver is again making a heavy production ami a report which appears else, where in this issue speaks of an improve, incut in the value of the ore. Shipments from Fish Springs district which which were quite large a week or two ago have been somewhat diminished during the past week. The shipments of mineral products out of the city for the week ending December ii, were to ihe amount of Km'., tons, of which 4Ji tons was in bullion and IUm tons was in ore. The Ontario has produced (luring the week $lti, Lt'.l.cH, all being derived from the. sale of ore. Ore sales fiom Ihe Daly have been lo the value of $S i ;.'!.". Machinery for the Tesora. The company which is working this mine In the porphyry belt near Silver City have determined to put on a plant of machinery and to develop it in such a manner us w ill enable them to make a large production. For the past two months a number of men have been employed in straightedirj; up the. old shaft preparatory lo the extensive opera-tions which have now been fully decided on. There is some water in the bottom of the shaft and it may be necessary to put in a small sized pump. The Tesora is just east of Silver city and is one of those mines w hich have become somen hat noted for the the silver bearing Iron ore w hich they pro- - duce. This product Is alw ays in the greatest demand by tye smelters even though il does nol carry much silver, making the mine a profitable one to work. Onlennlal-Eucek- a Wealth. A most wonderful discovery of ore has been made in the 31X1 foot level of the Cen-tennial F.ureka at a point between ',"H1 and 1 iks I feet south of the shaft. At the present time the ore body Is twenty. eight feel wide and looks as though it might continue that si.e for some distance. There is another chute of ore .on this level nearer the shaft which has produced some of the most fabu-lously rich ore ever yielded hy a Tintic mine, and that, together with the present strike, will give the Centennial company reserves on which they will he able to pay dividends for a number ot years. Ontario Drain Tunnel. AVater is still pouring out of tho Ontario drain tunnel in veritable torrents. While it perhaps has not as a great a force as it had w hen tirst struck, it is still so strong as to preclude thu possibility of working in the fare for the present or until some steps are taken to raise the track. Loral and ineral. ,1. B. Faxlon, a Bingham miner, Is In the rity. The Keystone is producing about 4lKitons ot ore a week. W. M. Ferry of Park City came down from that camp last night. Natural gas and Deep Creek ore at the prei nt time dividing attention. It is expected that another shipment will be mode by the ballon next week. (ieorge A. Kice, who is interested In the mines of La Plata district, is down from Logan. The articles of incorporation of the Sun-set .Mining Company were tiled wilh Secre-tary Sells yesterday. There is nearly ''..V)d ton of ore stored in the Fiireka Hill mine waiting for the arrival pf the K. 0. "W. railaoad. Sam (lilson is expected to arrive from fiiigway the early part of next week with a shipment of ore from the Buekhorn. K. K, Walker is expected to arrive in town in a few (lays with it shipment of ore from the Scotia mine in West Tintic. Captain .1. L. Smith, superintendent of Ihe Unld Mountain Mining company, i in the city. He, reports the mines in his charge to he looking most promising. Ceo. Arthur liice say s that the report of of his Intention of listing the Sampson mine, on the Denver exchange is at present pre- mature. When in lie was asked to list the properly on the exchange bin did not consent to do so. William .Mills who owns a dozen big palena and carbonate mines in Ihe lead Left of Dugway district is in the city. Mr. Mills is enniident he could produce more than a hundred tons a day from his own properfv if twere was ouiy a railroad to ship it over. A mining man who bus lately been in fish Springs tiibtrict claims the mines then-cevc-showed so well as they do now. If shipments are suspcuded. it is not because of lack of ore, for the I tali mine has be tween UK. and "no tons on the dump which will net close to JiOO a tou. Bingham Bulletin Brerilea, Miners in Cottonwood ifuleh report nearlv Shree feet of snow in that locality. Verily Frost hath us in his grip. Mr. Kjellstrom. one of the lessees of the Saturn mine, says that the ore streak in the . tunnel is steadily widening out and gives every indication of lesding into a body of ore. Squires and Veitch are still busily explor-ing the ore body of the Kairview property. They report that the ore streak is steadily increasing both in width and richness the deeper they go down. The S'L.jrara Mining company has been pumping out their shaft, and putting things tation of results would seem to sui;Lre-- t that a funeral would he outre appropriate for the Canton democrats than a jubilation.
