SMITH Utah Highway Patrol In recognition of Buckle Up America Week a national cam- paign highlighting the life saving potential of safety belts, child safety belts and air bags, the Utah Highway Patrol strongly encourages all motorists to use safety belts and child safety seats on every trip in a motor vehicle. Memorial Day weekend, the first msgor holiday of the summer season, will soonbehere and everyone will be headed for the open road and the great outdoors after a long winter. Memorial Day is a day to remember the passing of our loved ones not the day to join them. People are still being killed - our highways because they didnt take three seconds to buckle on up. Thats inexcusable! For you and your loved ones, develop a new safety habit this week. Make sure every trip starts with a CLICK." As members of the Utah Highway Patrol we would like to remind parents of young children to protect them in a child safety seat and to make sure that the seat is installed and used correctly. Child restraints are credited with saving an estimated 222 lives in 1990. Thats a good record, but it can be improved with your help. From all of us to all of you, have a safe and wonderful summer. But, please, start each trip with a CLICK. teams take first Drill in Lagoon competition BY DIANA RASMUSSEN TheCentralUtahHighKick-er- s drill teams competed in the Rocky Mountain Showcase Spectacular on Saturday, May 22 at Lagoon.
