Show f) BASIN BRIEFS Mr. and Mrs. Wayne Malin left Thursday to spend the weekend week-end in Salt Lake City. During his parent's absence, Doug Malin will be a guest of Quin Cor bridge, son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Corbridg. Mr. and Mrs. T. Vinton Smith have moved to Roosevelt to establish es-tablish their residence. They formerly for-merly lived in Orland. California, Cali-fornia, where Mr. Smith was in the dairy business. Mr. Smith will be associated with Mr. Fred Gagon and Mr. George Stewart in the Basin Realty Company. S 2-c Dee LaMar Drollinger, I of Roosevelt, was discharged December 14, from the Naval Separation Center at San Diego. He entered service March 1, 1946. Pfc. Lamon David Wilson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Seth Wilson, of Roosevelt, was discharged at Fort Ord, California, December 5, 1946. Mr. Wilson entered service in November 1945 and served four months as a clerk-typist at Ft. Douglas, before being transferred to Camp McQuaide, California, where he was stationed sta-tioned until his discharge. Before returning home, Mr. Wilson visited a week in Los Angeles with his brother-in-law and sister, Dan and Thella Brock, and their son, Danny. He also attended the annual LDS Youth convention of Southern California Cali-fornia on December 7 and 8. Enroute to Roosevelt he spent a few days with friends and relatives rel-atives in Southern Utah. Mr. Wilson expects to continue con-tinue his studies at the USAC at Logan next term. Mr. and Mrs. Jesse R. Allen, and son, Bobbie, left on December Decem-ber 10 for Salt Lake City en-route en-route to Arizona where they will spend the winter. They plan to stop for a time in California, Cali-fornia, visiting friends in Los Angeles and San Diego, before returning home. ' Basketball There will be a pre-season basketball game, Monticello vs Roosevelt, played at the Roosevelt Roose-velt elementary gym on December Decem-ber 26 starting at 7 p.m. A second sec-ond game will be played at 9 p.m. On December 28, Park City will play Roosevelt at Roosevelt. The games are scheduled to start at 7 p.m. DUP Christmas Parly The Daughters of Utah Pioneers Pio-neers will hold their Christmas party Friday, December 27, at the home of Florence Adams. A good program is being arranged and plans made to exchange presents. All members are requested re-quested to attend. Mr. and Mrs. Orville Dart, of My Ion, are leaving Sunday for Salt Lake City where they will visit their two daughters, Dorothy Dart and Mrs. S. L., Reinsimar, and family. From there they will go to McGill and Ely, Nevada where they will spend Christmas with their daughters, Mrs. Arthur Leigh and Mrs. Joseph Zirko. and their families. Fredricka Dart, who is attending school at Wasatch Was-atch Academy, will join her parents par-ents in Salt Lake and make the trip to Nevada with them. Louis Lajis, and son, Donald,' left Friday on a week's business busi-ness trip to Portland, Oregon. Mrs. Louis Larls accompanied them as far as Salt Lake City where she spent a day visiting relatives and shopping. Word has been received that Pat Markey is greatly enjoying his vacation with Mrs. Markey at McAllen, Texas. Mrs. Markey, who went to Texas early in the fall because of ill health, is finding the lower altitude beneficial. bene-ficial. Mr. and Mrs. Axel Birch had as their dinner guests Sunday, Mr. and Mrs. Bob Marimon and Mr. and Mrs. Frank Chamberlain, Chamber-lain, of Whiterocks, Mr. and Mrs. Lynn Orser, and Mr. and Mrs. Louis Corbridge and son, Quin. Baptist Church The Roosevelt Baptist Church will hold its Christmas program Sunday evening, December 23 at 7:30 p.m. Special numbers will be furnished by the Gusher Union Church and the Roose- velt Bible Mission. Rev. R. E. Cure will deliver the Christmas message, after which there will be a tree and gifts for the children. chil-dren. Afton Bingham and Rhea Bracken, who are employed at the Vernal Drug Co., spent Sunday Sun-day with their parents. a Enoch Stolla, who has been in service for over two years, has received his discharge. He has been visiting for some time with his parents. Altamonl High School Altamont's first play of the season "Watch Out For Spooks" will be presented in the near future, under the direction of Principal LeRoy C. Wilcox. The cast includes Colleen Orr, Veva Miles, Lois Childs, Ella Rogers, Genicl Davies, Beth Winkler, LaRae Wall, LaWana Murray, Charles Allred, Fred Thacker, Blaine Nyberg, Robert Bcrrett. PTA meeting was held Saturday, Sat-urday, December 7, following the basketball game between the Mt. Emmons Farmers and the Altamont Longhorns. The game ended 29 to 19 in favor of the Farmers. The Christmas holidays will begin with the Freshie Frolic on Dec. 20 in -the high school gym. The Junior class party was held December 6 at the high school.
