Evan Hellstrom returned home from Ogden Friday, where he had his tonsils removed. Richard, he son of Mrs. Gwen Brough was taken to Salt Lake by his mother and Mrs. Wesley Kearl, the night of June 13th, after a weeks illness and was found to have Rocky Mountain Fever. Mearl Marshall acted as mail earner on 'the Evanston mail Tuesday and Wednesday. He was accompanied by his mother, Mrs. W. E. Marshall. Blain Marshall was operated upon for appendicitis at the Dee hospital last Saturday. Mr. and Mrs. N. L. Gray were business visitors at Ogden Monday. Mr. and Mrs. Deay Kennedy of Ogden came last Saturday for a short visit with Randolph relatives. Mrs. Farrell Spencer is visiting her folks in Mexico. Mr --.and Mrs. Carl Kennedy of Ogden visited Randolph relatives during the week. Mr. and Mrs. Wm. Jones received word that her daughter, Mrs. Alfa Griffith, had been in an auto wreck and eceived a bad back injury. A rear tire on he pickup she was driving blew out and the car overturned. Miss Lois Ann Thornock left Friday evening for Laramie, Wyo., to visit with her sister, Miss Willa Thornock. She was taken to Evanston to catch the east bound bus, by her folks Mrs.' Ben Scholmick and' small son, David of Salt Lake have been the guests of her sister and brother-in-laMr. and Mrs. Glen Spencer. She returned home early last week. Another gust in their home was the small daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Keith Spencer of Logan, who has been vacationing in Randolph, Ideal Beach and Salt Lake v City. We hope he likes his placement and that he may get to see Clarence Eastman and Kay Bryson, who also are stationed there. Mrs. Reed .Putnam and her mother of Kemmerer, were in attendance at Sacrament meeting Sunday. Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Frodsham and family were visitors at Frank Fraziers Sunday. Mrs. Frodsham the mother of Bruce, Mr. and Mrs. Bil Knox and son, all of Idaho were with Bruce and his family. Gilbert Cox spent the week end here with his father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Heber Cox. Shervin Dean returned to his home Sunday after having been ill at the Coalville hospital for several weeks with tuleremia. We hope he is soon well and about again. A baby girl was bom to Margaret Rufi Gregg of Salt Lake during this last week. Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Frazier and Brent motored to Salt Lake Sunday evening on business and are spending a few days there. Mr. and Mrs. Tom Dean who have been at Salt Lake for medical aid, returned home Monday evening. They have received a letter from their son Roy, who has landed safely overseas. Letters were received from several of the boys in England Monday evening. Their parents had not heard for about five weeks so these letters were very welcome. Mrs. Lyndon Dean who is stationed at Colorado Springs with her husband is in the hospital with an appendix operation. We hope she is soon well and strong again. v ZBEAR Carl Dean arrived home on furlough Tuesday evening. We are all so glad Carl was priveledged to have a furlough and hope he has an enjoyable time while here. Mr. and Mrs. Delmer Brown moved this week into the home where Mr. and Mrs. Elden Putnam lived in the west side of town. A dance was given Monday evening in Randolph for everyone in the county to hear the results of the Fifth War Loan drive. Rich County was the first county in the state to reach their quota, an daibout eight or fen thousand dol-abeyond it A plaque also was presented to our county with the names of every boy and girl who are in the service. Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence presented this to the county. Also a beautiful red rose 'was presented first y to every mother, then father, and infant evryone there rceived a rose. Mr. Moffat of Salt Lake City was the principle speaker. While this dance was in progress those at home who had their radios on hear dit announced of Rich Countys wonderful success aind Mr. Johnsons part in this drive. We are all proud of the boys and girls . in our county and are 'behind them one hundred precent They will all be happy to bear this news. The boys of our Aaronic Priesthood leave eary Wednesday morning for a fishing rip into the canyons west of our town. Their advisors and leaders will go with these boys. What a wonderful opportunity to get in closer touch with each other and see the beautiful things of nature. May they have a fine time and get some fih so they can always have a fine story to tell of this trip. Marriner Brown has been ill for several days of this week.
