Show DEATH OF A FORMER RESIDENT george woods passes away alter after a return to ills boyhood home the coos county democrat ot of lancaster new ila hampshire mp shire says friday morning the dinst about 1230 george irving wood woods died at the residence of mr and mrs V F n U congdon on slain street mr air woods was wai the youngest of the family of the late oliver L and mary burnside Burnsl de woods and was born in the town of northumberland on the of april 1839 his ills early education was obtained la ia the common schools of bis his native town tow and at lancaster academy ha ile was a general favorite among his school fellows from the geniality of bis his disposition and frankness of char ar acter these qualities he be retained through life as his many friends can attest of an adventurous spirit he left his homo home more than 30 years agnand ago and had varied experiences of life in the south and great west and tor for many years did not visit the home of his boyhood but more recently he has called lancaster his home while his pecuniary interests were lu in utah colorado and nevada A year ago last february while in ogden utah he lie suffered a partial shock of paralysis but after atter a time he so tar far recovered as to set out for home but upon tipon arrival at toronto was unable to proceed farther and was ultimately brought to town by mr air congdon from prom that time he be has gradually failed physically and mentally until the end came his ills niece mrs congdon and her husband have been unremitting in their kindly ministrations to him and everything that could be was done to make his condition easy and comfortable through their tender care the funeral services were held saturday afternoon rev P P F Af marston arston conducting them simply and tenderly a large number of ot friends being present the burial was in tho the new cemetery |
