December's fitness goals are to Nordic Track to the North Pole and the Twelve Days of Fitness competition. Each participant in the Nordic Track to the North Pole competition has until Dec. 29 to ski as many miles as possible. However, participants are only allowed a maximum of one hour per day to ski. Patrons who compete in the Twelve Days of Fitness workout per competition must complete one, day for a total of 12 workouts. Workout activities may include: aerobics, step aerobics, water aerobics, jazzer-cise-, basketball, free weights, jogging, lifecycle, lifestep, martial arts, nautilus, Nordic Track, racquetball, Stairmaster, tennis, volleyball, walking, health and wellness programs, swimming, treadmill, and special event programs. Teams check-i- n by Cross Country Ski Tour scheduled will p.m. Dec. 12 and 10:30 p.m. The competition is part of a new Friday night fitness alternative program. Once a month. Hess will extend its hours of operation until 1 a.m. to provide alternative fitness activities on Friday nights. The entire facility will be available for use except the pool.
