Pearce appeared and made verbal petition that he be granted a butcher's license for the ue-xt quarter ' free, as during the past six months he has paid license and done but little business busi-ness during that time. Referred to Committee on Claims, etc., with power to act. The Mayor reported in regard to the proposition of F, K. Nebeker, to Lirnish Revised Ordinances, that same be not accepted. Report accepted. The Water Schedule for the year 1899 was presented and on motion the next t regular meeting was appointed as time ' for hearing complaints and for making remittances, ; Bill of Joseph T. Atkin for removing -dead animals, etc., $1.50, allowed. Bill of Joseph T. Atkin for labor on ditch, $5.00 allowed. Bill of Francis L. Daggett, for revis--ing water abstract and making up water schedule, $8.00, allowed. Bill of Justices' Court in case of George Nelson, $1.50, allowed. The City Attorney reported that the note of Gray Bros, had been collected to the amount of $12.50, leaving $2.50. Report accepted. The quarantine physican reported that there were a number of cases of scarlatina in the city, but of mild form, otherwise health of the people good. Report accepted. The Council proceeded to fill vacancy-caused vacancy-caused by the resignation of John G. MeQuarrie. John T. Woodbury was nominated and appointed by unanimous vote to fill the vacancy. Ordered, that if men could be found who would do the work for Cottonwood Canal scrip, that they be employed to clean out the canal so that the water could come down. Report of watermaster showing all water tax collected except 05 cents, and also report of auditor showing that the same had been found correct and watermaster credited with amount collected, col-lected, and $54.14 in redeemed scrip destroyed, accepted. Councilor Jarvis from Com. on Public Pub-lic Grounds and Improvements reported report-ed that in regard to Bicycle track, suggested sug-gested that the Council give all necessary neces-sary and lawful protection to those who had constructed the same. Report accepted ac-cepted and recommendation adopted Committee on Chums and appropriations appropria-tions asked for further time in relation to bill of Charles R.
