Show Mining Swindles. Tho following chapter from the Laws of Utah, passed by the last Leg islature, is worth preserving: An Act supplemental to an Act entitled en-titled "An Act in relation to Defrauding, De-frauding, Cheating or Swindling," approved January 2uTh, ISo-J. ' (Approved February 20th, ISM.) Be it enacted by tho Governor and Legislative Assembly of tho Territory of Utah, That any person or persons who shall hereafter, for tho purpose of selling any mining claim or any interest therein, place in or upon such claim any ores, or specimens of ores not extracted therefrom, or shall exhibit ex-hibit any ores or certificate of assay cf ore not extracted therefrom, with intent to deceivo any person or persons per-sons by such artifice; or who shall obuiin any money or property by such false pretense and artificc;!and all persons who shall knowincly and willingly aid or abet such falso pretense pre-tense by furnishing ore or assays uf ore for such purpose; or who shall procure or furnish any false sampling of ores: or who shall produce any faiso certificate of assav of any ores, for such purpose, shaif be deemed guilty of fraud, and shall, on conviction convic-tion thereof, in any court having competent jurisdiction, bo punished as provided in said act, to which this act is. supplemental, |
