Peterson, will return to her home town, Provo, bn Oct. 3 for a speaking engagement at Brigham Young University from where she graduated in 1927, -Mrs. Peterson,l who is assistant secretary of labor, will address the first regular; meeting of the BYU Women to be held in the west dining areal of the Cannon Center starting at 8 p.m. The distinguished BYU graduate was 'named .an assistant to the secretary, of labor and director of the women's bureau of the Department of Labor early this year. In August she wets elevated to assistant secretary of labor for wom en's affairs, which represents the highest post held by a woman in the Kennedy Administration Active hi labor circles for many years, Mrs. Peterson was serving as legislative representative of the AFL-CIIndustrial Union0 Department prior to her appointment to tht government position. Her. husband is a labor adviser in the State Department's Bureau of African Affairs. Mrs. Peterson's father was Lars Eggertseh, pioneer Provo educator, and she has brothers and sisters in Provo. Following her graduation from BYU in' 1927, she taught school in Cedar City for two years. She then went East where she taught at a Boston prep school. -u -- 1 . Ward One.
