P easa nit G rove N btes I .; Thursday night at a business-dinnmeeting to hear a talk on safety in driving and to discuss the free Glaucoma clinic which will be 'sponsored' by the organization Oct. 5. Conducting the meeting was J. D. Pyne, presi' dent. Speaker for the evening was former Provo chief of police Bill Farley who spoke on the three E's in driving which he said are "education, engineering and enforcement." Mr. Farley stated that "cars are safer todajr than ever before and the majority of accidents are caused by ' carelessness and not from mechanical defects. .People should take an inventory of their own driving from day to day," Mr. Farley v said. It was agreed that all Lions and the Lady Lions would assist in the Glaucoma , clinic at the Lincoln Junior. High School Cafeteria between 7 and 9:30 p.m. Oct. 5. Of the estimated 258,000 adults over, 40 years of age living; in the state of Utah over. 7,000 possibly have the glaucoma, according to commission officials. , These clinics are aimed at preventing adults from contacting thii disease, which can be checked only if detected in its early stages. Statistics show that one of every 50 Americans over 40 years of age are "losing their sight as a result of the disease. Listed are three points to remember about glaucoma: i.
