WOW PLAYINC Ot Jfk Rabbit hunting Stwc Jfteatxe THE HOLIDAY Lounging on the couch, drifting in and out of consciousness, doing my darnedest to decipher the annoying sound that kept interrupting my afternoon siesta, I somehow recognized it as the ringing of a telephone. Fighting through the fog that filled my mind, I found the cordless apparatus atop the island, situated directly in the center of our kitchen. Acknowledging myself to the caller, I was greeted with a hearty "HELLO" from my good friend Tom Sorensen. How would you like to go hunting rabbits, Tom queried? Rabbits? I don't have time to go hunting rabbits, I replied. I'll pick you up in the morning around 8, was all I heard before the phone was disconnected from Tom's end. Brayden Taylor, Mike Taylor, Tom Sorensen, Wade Royce and Devon Peters. into the back seat and climbed aboard. Tom informed me of his plans to meet some buddies from work at a pre determined rabbit hot spot. Within a half hour we arrived, finding the parking spot vacant. Deciding which direction to hunt was not a problem, as Tom had a game plan already in place. It seems that Tom has True to his word, Tom pulled been keeping tabs on this parhis monster 4x4 Chevy pickup ticular brier patch for quite some truck into our driveway at pre- time now, periodically monitorcisely 8 am. With Kerri wishing ing the jack rabbit population, to us good luck, I stowed my gear insure a quality outing. Rabbit sightings were minimal at first, with plenty of tracks located, but few if any rabbits. I reminded Tom of a saying my father was fond of, "you can't eat the tracks." With that we switched our strategy and began looking closer to the foot hills, Along with our new game plan came increased shot opportunities. Jack rabbits were abundant along the benches and 1 told you so's" from Tom were quite prevalent as well. I don't know how many rabbits we harvested that day, but far more escaped unscathed than any that were in real danger. Returning to the pickup's, we . headed towards home for a hamburger and to relive the morning's events. We all agreed it had been too long since we had left our cares behind and matched wits with the wily wabbit.
