NATURAL GAS COMING English Capitalists Are Interesting Themselves in the Fields Negotiations are now on between the owners of the Lake Shore gas fields I and an English syndicate of capitalists looking to the piping of the natural gas to this city for lighting and heating heat-ing purposes This matter has received re-ceived passing mention several times heretofore but the outlook has never I been as bright as now Tests have been made recently and the experts sent out by the Englishmen made favorable reports I re-ports upon the proposition and the indications in-dications are that within the next two months natural gas will be flowing from the Lake Shore wells Into the heart of this city The present plan is to lay a four and a six inch pipe side by side on the surface sur-face of the ground from the fields to this city and then turn into them the gas from the wells which are now ready to spout allowing the flow to continue as an experiment for two or three months long enough to determine deter-mine whether or not the supply is inexhaustible in-exhaustible as conditions would indicate indi-cate Should the flow continue at about I I the same pressure for the length of time named the a permanent main I will be laid eight ten or twelve inch being used as the necessity requires The promoters of the enterprise have he very best backing and are confident dent of the favorable action of the foreIgners Recent tests show that the last well put down has a much stronger flow than the famed Tuscarora A gauge on the Stranger registers a pressure I sure of 275 pounds
