Youth Conference for the Panguitch Region, which includes in-cludes Beaver, Escalante and Panguitch Stakes, has been planned for the coming week in Panguitch. It will be a very special Conference with BrotherCarlos E. Asay, member of the First Quorum of the Seventy of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -Day Saints, and his wife, Colleen, to be the speakers at a Special Assembly on Saturday morning, April 14. Carlos Asay, member of the First Quorum of Seventy, is an experienced Church worker and former university univer-sity professor. He was born June 12, 1926 in Sutherland, Utah and was reared in Monroe. He served a mission in Palestine -Syria from 1947-50; 1947-50; was bishop of the South Cottonwood Sixth Ward for five years; a member of the high council in the Long Beach California and the Utah Cottonwood Stakes; served on the Sunday School General Board; presided over the Tedas North Mission Mis-sion from 1970-73; and served ser-ved as Regional Representative. Represen-tative. His current assignments include Executive Director of the Church's Missionary CARLOS E. ASAY I Department and Advisor to j the Great Plains -Southwest ' Zone. As a student at the Uni- 'versity of Utah, he was a member of the school's basketball team the year it I won the National Invitational Tournament.
