Show ALFRED BARRETT PASSES AWAY Alfred Berrott, who brought tho first farm Implements into Weber county, died at nis nome in xsiortn ugaen at 9 o'clock Sunuay morning. He was SS years of ago at the time of his death Mr. Berrett was oue of tho pioneer of Weber county and was over a progressive progres-sive man. It was becauso of his Inclination In-clination for doing farming on an extensive ex-tensive scale that he Imported the first farm implements ever uBed In this vicinity. vi-cinity. The first thresher, binder and mower ever used In this county were brought here by him. He was also a musician of note and was Instrumental In organizing the first brass baud In Ogden. On January 13, 1824, Alfred Berrett was born at Ashton, England He joined tho Mormon church In 1S47 and flvo years later he came to America, locating In this county. With the exception ex-ception of two years spent In the Sal- motii rlvpp mlaRlnnnrv flolrlc ho anont all of his days In this county after taklng up his residence here. He Is survived by six children, two son3 Marlon Berrett and Hamlet E. Berrett, and four daughters, Mrs. Mary A. Chord, Victoria Marshall, Mrs. Lena Hambly and Mrs. Maud Story. He also al-so leaves thirty-three grandchildren and twenty-one great grandchildren. The body may bo viewed at tho Berrett Ber-rett residence thlB evening and until Tuesday at 1 p. m. The funeral services serv-ices will be held in the North Ogdon meeting house at 2 o'clock tomNrrosv afternoon. Interment will be made In the Ogden city cemetery. nn |
