Show NEWSPAPER MEN ON aUTOTRIP Arrive in Salt LaKe Last Night and Are Resting at Hnutsford; Trying to Break Record. - 1 . Just to get a little rest two tired newspaper news-paper men who are traveling across the continent In an automobile la an endeavor en-deavor to break the world'a record for the feat, dropped Into Salt Lake City last evening and sought out a place at the Knutsford hotel. They were Christian Chris-tian D. Hagerty and Richard Little, both of whom were correspondents for Chicago Chi-cago papera during the Russian-Japanese war. The men are making the trip from New Tork to San Francisco in th Interest Inter-est of Tuan Shal Kal, a Chinese Viceroy, Vice-roy, and Incidentally for the automobile company, which is known as the "Bulck." The men believe they will break the transcontinental record of thirty-three daya for a touring car, and even break the fifteen and one-half daya' record for a stripped racer.' Three chauffeurs ar working in relaya so that the trip can continue at the same record-breaking speed. The trip from Cheyenne to Ogden is the hardest of the entire distance, and for that reason the newspaper men came to Salt Lake City to get a little rest. They will catch the car at Ogden aome time today or tomorrow morning. |
