Show COMPROMISE ARMY DILL. An Agreement Itejwrtfi! to Have lleen Itraclied Washington, Feb. 25. The administration adminis-tration and Its'- representatives In congress con-gress have reached an agreement with tho mlno-lty in congress respecting the army reorganization bill, which it is believed will bo satisfactory to all Interested. The compromise Is bated on an army of 100,000 men, of whom 33,000 will bo known as the provisional army and will bo enlisted to serve until 1001. Ar. rangements are made for a full staff corps, as In tho Hull bill, and generally speaking it is said that the arrangement arrange-ment effected saves tho features of that measure which Is regarded as most essential while meeting in a largo measure the objection of tho majority baed on a fear that the regular establishment estab-lishment was to bo permanently Increased. |
