While Bush may idealize with rhetoric, the first challenge to his second term, won with 52 percent of the vote, will come Jan. 30 when Iraqis will vote for their new president. The Iraqi liberation continues to play a key role in his presidential career, yet its primary motive, weapons of mass destruction, is no longer an issue in this term. The Bush administration has stated the weapons have never been found and have quit the search. Many optimistic fans believed that this season was . going to bring back the glory days to the Delta Center, but has it? Larry Hi Miller dedicated millions of dollars to keep Andre Kirilenko in a jazz uniform. He also showed his dedication to the teams success by signing Memet Okur and free agent Carlos Boozer. Both these new acquisitions were already solid players with the previous teams. Okur ' just won a championship ring with the Detroit Pistons. Boozer came off a solid year with Cleveland averaging 19 points per g le and pulling down nine rebounds per game (not to mention Boozers ability to throw the ball down with du or became quiet in punk , goth and CTR rings and no rings One protesters authority). With all the expectations put on this young team and numerous injuries, the Jazz find themselves clawing their way back to make a serious run at making the playoffs. Their current record is 14-27. . machine and has been sidelined for weeks now. Kirilenkos knee injury was the end of the brilliant run that made fans believe this was the year. Obviously, Kirilenkos presence on the court is extremely important to the win column of the Jazz. He is arguably the best defender in the league with over four blocks per game. On Jan. 10, the San Antonio Spurs were in town again and many fans believed winning that game would be impossible. The Spurs have been one of the best teams in the league for years and have owned the Jazz for just as long Incredibly, the Jazz won the game with a game winning shot by Okur. This game ended the losing streak for the year and the Jazzs losing streak against the Spurs. The Jazz will need a prayer to make the playoffs this year. However, the beginning of February looks promising as the Jazz play some of the weaker teams in the league. Maybe that is when the turnaround begins?OS |
