Show F. D. B. GAY PUTS OUT NEW MAP O FUTAH The mew folder map of Utah, put out by F. D. B. Gay, secretary of the Scenic Highway association, is about the best map that has come tc- our attention in the past. It shows all ma!n roads and scenic attractions. The paved roads of the state are shown in red. The improved gravel roads in yellow .and- other automobile automo-bile roads in blue. The inside front cover contains a table of -distances from Milford to many towns and points of interest. The front has a brief but comprehensive compre-hensive description in relation to Milford and its activities, as follows: ' "Milford, Utah; population 2,000. "Important railroad, agriculture,' mining and shipping point and one of the rapidly growing towns of Southern Sou-thern Utah. Milford is located In Beaver county, 207 miles south of Salt Lake City. It is the principal division point between Salt Lake and Los Angeles railroad between Salt Lake City and Las Vegas, Nevada. Located in the center of a great undeveloped un-developed area of fretile land in the 'mmediate future, assures Milford and Beaver county of rapid and prosperous pros-perous growth. No section of the west today has more to offer the homo seeker and the farmer thati the immediate vicinity of Milford. Good soil, unexcelled winter and summer climate, possibility of extensive exten-sive water development, unlimited markets all conspire to make this a great agricultural district. "The best auto highway from Salt Lake City to San Francisco and central cen-tral Nevadti leads south from Salt Lake through the fertile sections of Utah to Beaver, Milford and west via Baker, Lehman's cave, Reno, Lake Tahoe and San Francisco, is the best automobile coast connection Utah has. The Milford road connects with the Lincoln Highway at Ely and continues- over this famous highway to San Francisco. "This is the shortest., amd best road connection from the north and west to Utah's Scenic Wonders. The road from Milford to Baker, Nevada, has been usedl as a highway for the past 50 years and has played an important im-portant part in the development of Southern Utah and Nevada. "Milford has modern hotels, good lafes, garages, theatres, drug stores, tank and several large mercantile establishments. |
