Show Volume XV Issue VIII The Ogden Valley news Page April 1, 2008 Announcements Obituaries (cont. on page 8) Wayne Garn Hall Wayne Garn Hall passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2008 at Davis Hospital and Medical Center surrounded by his family. He was born January 11, 1936 in St. Anthony, Idaho to Jick Hall and Ruby Birch Hall. He married the love of his life Horaldene Wayne Hall (Holly) Quigley Hall on November 10, 1954 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are eternal best friends and shared an amazing relationship for 53 years. They were blessed with four children. Wayne’s family and the Gospel were the focus of his life. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many ward and stake callings, most recently as an Ogden Temple worker. Together, Wayne and Holly served in the Nauvoo, Illinois Mission (1999 – 2000). Frank William “Bill” Ostler Bill Ostler passed away Sunday, March 16, 2008 at his home after celebrating his Frank Ostler 88th birthday. He was born March 15, 1920 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Frank Leonard and Ada Jennie Holmes Ostler. He graduated from Granite High School in Salt Lake City. Bill married Pauline Beth Olsen, April 1, 1942 in Salt Lake City, and in 1945 they moved to Ogden. Bill served his country with the U.S. Navy Robert LaVell Hubert Robert LaVell Hubert, 71, passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2008. He was born June 28, 1936 in Enumclaw, Washington to George Denver and Wanda Fern Lawrence Hubert. He attended schools in the Seattle area and Robert Hubert obtained his GED. On June 27, 1959, Bob married his soul mate Myrna Gail Conklin in Seattle, Washington. They later moved to God’s country, Huntsville, Utah. Bob served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict and later in the U.S. Naval and Air Force Reserves. Serving his country with pride brought out his belief in God, which was shown by the way he treated others. Bob worked at Thiokol as a fireman for a brief time. He retired from D.D.O. as a warehouse supervisor after 31 years of service, and later enjoyed his time as a bus-driver for Wayne and Holly, along with partners Ferrel and Shirley Gailey, built the successful excavation company Hall & Gailey, Inc. Wayne and Holly later formed Hall Enterprises Inc. Through that process, they taught their children the value of hard work. Wayne accomplished much each day, whether in his own yard, on his tractor in the fields, or in service to his family, ward, and neighborhood. He served as a Syracuse City Councilman and on the Davis County Planning Commission. Wayne and Holly shared the blessing of a great group of friends with whom they shared life’s journeys. He is survived by his wife, Holly, and children: Gary (Judy) Hall, Valerie (Allan) Burk, Charon (Michael) Bird, all of Syracuse, UT; Vonette (Gary) Kerr, Eden, UT; 24 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents, several brothers and sisters, one granddaughter Carmen May McKinney, and one great-granddaughter Hannah May Nakae. Funeral services were held Saturday, March 15, 2008 at Syracuse South Stake Center, 3065 South Bluff Road, Syracuse, UT. Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery. Dahrl Richards Allen A 72 year love affair that started on their first date at the Egyptian Theatre ended where it started, at the Egyptian Theatre, for our always loving, always interesting and truly cherished mother, Dahrl Richards Allen and her forever sweetheart, Dr. Merle Dahrl Allen E. Allen. She wasn’t ready to go because life for her was just too much fun, but the English teacher in her would have relished the literary improbability of their story. Mom was truly blessed to live a fully functioning, high impact life right up to their last date and then passed away peacefully with many of her family at her side. Lewis E. He was employed as a mechanic and was a member of the Ogden Pineview Yacht Club White, Sr. where he served as Commodore and Secretary. Lewis Earl White, He enjoyed boating, snowskiing, and golf. Bob and Myrna loved traveling the U.S. on his Honda motorcycle. He was a kind and gentle man who lived and loved life to the fullest. He was very proud of his family. Bob is survived by his wife, Myrna; daughter Robyn Woolsey, Ogden; three grandchildren, Tiesha Thomas, Florida; Amanda Woolsey, Salt Lake City; Michelle Woolsey, Washington Terrace; and three great-grandchildren, Patrick, Kaleb and Hailey Thomas, Florida. He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Denny Lynn; and a son, Michael L. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 26 at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery. Mom loved her intimate involvement with the successes and adventures of her six children and their spouses, Rick (Karla), Huntsville; Ed (Patricia), Ogden; Bernie (Susan), Ogden; Rock (Tracy), Ogden; Lyn (Larry), Grand Junction, CO; and Jennifer (Jeff), South Ogden; her 29 grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Bernie and Lula Richards; brother Winn Richards; and infant daughter Claudette; and survived by her brother Maurice Richards and sister-in-law Joyce Richards. Schultz has returned to Alaska after being deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. The soldier is assigned to the 425th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, a subordinate unit of the 4th Brigade Combat Team (Airborne), 25th Infantry Division at Fort Richardson, Anchorage. Schultz, a combat engineer/sapper, has served in the military for more than two years. He is the son of JoNell I. Taylor of Layton and Stuart K. Schultz of Huntsville. His wife Allison is the daughter of Robert L. Elmore and Rhonda Elmore of Clearfield.
