The Logan native, currently the Sego Lily About 500 Sego Lily students took part in the fourth annual World's Largest Concert last Thursday. Schools around the country tuned in to the program aired on PBS, and sang along to the national anthem and other favorites like ' Old Dan Tucker" and "Shenandoah." Why was this concert so important? Sego Lily music specialist Bev Wilson said, "It is a great feeling to be a part of something on this scope and to bring out a feeling of nationalism through music." Wilson talked to the students after the concert to get their reactions. Some of them said that it gave them a feeling of pride to hear and to sing the national anthem. Others said the program just made them feel good. Wilson, not a native American, also expressed her feelings of pride in America in hearing the patriotic songs. She also warned the students about the dangers of negative types music. Sergie Nelson and Lynn Horrocks will serve as counselors, with Alan Ferkovich as executive secretary and John Bushman as ward clerk. Bishop Peterson is the son of Mary and the late Vera Peterson. He is married to the former Vicki Wing and they have six children: Mrs. Derek (Katrese) Wright; Conn, serving a mission in New Jersey; Jared, Krista, Justin and Matthew. The former High Councilman, Elder's Quorum president and Gospel Doctrine teacher, is an educator by trade. Sergie W. nelson, new first counselor, is a native of Phoenix, who now owns an insurance and securities firm. He and his wife, Connie, are the parents of three sons, Rik, Todd and Kurt, all of whom are married. His former church positions include service as Elder's Quorum president, High Councilman, ward financial clerk and Sunday School president. R. Lynn Horrocks, who will serve as Bishop Peterson's second counselor, works at Hercules as a consultant. His wife is the former Carolyn Whimpey. They have four children: Wendi, Rob, Erin and Mrs. Kevin (Jill) Larson. He has previously been an assistant cub master, cub master and cub committee chairman. He also served as ward clerk in a BYU ward. Executive secretary Alan J. Ferkovich is the son of Tony and Ardith Ferkovich. He is a teacher at Lehi Junior High School.
