Since Loyal's retirement as an iron worker, they have spent their date in winters in Arizona panning for gold, and their summers taking care of a large garden and fruit orchard that they share with friends, family and neighbors. Their grandchildren are a big part of their life, and they enjoy the many hours they spend together. They are the parents of seven children: Jeanne Beach, South Jordan; Veil Runolfson, Murray; Kent Runolfson, Monroe; Colleen Caldwell, Orem; Arlen Runolfson, Cedar Hills; Muriel Cook, Highland; and Debra Aston, American Fork. They have 14 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Mountainland Head Start will be taking application for preschool Mountainland Head Start will be accepting applications after April 1 for the 1988-8- 9 school year. Headstart is a federally-fundewith preschool for emphasis on family involvement. Sessions run one-haday, four days a week, with a hot lunch provided for each child. Transportation to and from the classroom is also provided. d lf condition, It Myrel Ricks to celebrate 80th birthday The family of Myrel Bennett Ricks her on her 80th birthday with a family dinner April 1 at the American Fork Hospital, 170 N. 1100 East. American Fork, at 6 p.m. Mrs. Ricks was born in Thatcher, Idaho, March 30, 1908, to Harold Bennett and Millie Perry. She was the oldest of 11 children. She married George A. Ricks in Paris, Idaho, their marriage was solemnized later in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. She and her husband lived in Vernon, Taylorsville and American Fork before settling in Lehi, where she has lived for 59 years. Mrs. Ricks has been an active W I member of the LDS Church, and has served as secretary of the Relirf Society and Secretary of the Genealogical Committee. She was also a member of the MIA presidency. She and her husband served LDS missions to Rosario, Argentia, and Harrisburg, Penn. Her hobbies are growing flowers and making her home beautiful. She is the mother of Dale H. Ricks, Lehi, and Lois R. Jorgensen, Pleasant Grove. One daughter, Mrs. Smith is Leland E. (Joyce) deceased.
