Candle Lighting Service A Candle Lighting service will be held at the Eureka Methodist Church Christmas Eve, at 10:30 pjn. Rev. Nicholson will conduct the services. The public is invited to attend. The temperatures have moderated as far as the thermometer registers, but the old wind, which is supposed to be coming from the South, has and certainly been is coming right off the North Pole. The temperature the last couple of days has been in the high 30s and low 40s, but something is definitely wrong, as most folks are colder than when it w as zero weather. ' New Years Masses . . Masses on New Years Day will be at 9:00 a.m., and 11:00 ajn. at Eureka. Parishioners are requested to take note of the Masses on that day, as there has been a misunder-standiin- g . that the Masses would be .at 9:00 and 10:00 a.m., instead of 9:00 and 11:00 am., the regularly scheduled time. There will be no religion classes next week. English class .tours at BYU LDS Church Services Sunday night services at the Eureka LDS Ward were coni; ducted by Bishop Denton opening prayer, John Castleton; music by Mayme Wirthlin at the organ, and Faye Ryan conducting. A devotional prelude was played by Norma Jameson, and the music for the program was by Mrs. Jameson and Ann Gar-bet-t. Tintic seventh grade English students combined a pleasure trip and an educational tour last Wednesday when they made a trip to Provo. They enjoyed a few hours roller skating at the Riverside Rink, and were taken on a tour of the library and computer center at the BYU. The tour of the university was a definite thrill for the young people and they kept the teachers busy answering questions on the way home. Accompanying them to Provo were Supt. Fawson and the school librarian, Fred Open-sha- w. Fred Spencer, a student at the Abbey School in Canyon City, Colorado, and Miss Margo Spencer, who is attending St. Marys of the Wasatch !n Salt Lake, arrived heme during the week, where they will spend the holidays with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Spencer. Home from the Brigham Young University for the holidays, is Earl McIntyre, who is spending the time with his parents, Mr nd Mrs. Steele McIntyre at Mammoth. Dinner guests on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Thomas were Mr. and Mrs. Jim Davis and two children of San Francisco, California. . . David Bernini arrived home on Sunday, where he will spend the holidays here with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bernini. He is attending St. Josephs College in Mt. View, California. His parents and brother, Jimmy, met him in Salt Lake City. Dancing will begin at .10 p.m. with an orchestra furnishing the music. A banquet, under direction of Lavon Ryan, assisted by other members of the Ladies of Order of Eastern Star, was served at 6:30 pjn. Officers instaled were Lawrence F. The older group, sixth grade through high school class members trimmed the tree for and some played games after which refreshments were served. Mrs. Muth and Mrs. Fitch are teachers for the older group. A second party was held on Tues. afternoon in the parish rectory for the younger children from kindergarten through the sixth grade. Mrs. Joseph Bernini, Mrs. Floyd Evans and Mrs. Harold Spencer are the teachers for this group. Games were enjoyed and Christmas carols were sung. Miss Joan Quigley and Miss Eileen Spencer, sang Christmas songs and accompanied themselves on guitars, and led the group in the carol singing.
