Doctors seemed surprised that Ron survived the surgery and did not hold out much hope to the anxious family. The aneurism was on Rons right side and so had affected the left side of his body. As he began to slowly recover from the extensive surgery, his left side was badly af- fected. And, of course, hes left handed, sighed his mom. Yet, in spite of the poor prognosis, Ron recovered. But it was, oh, so slowly, and with no one able to tell how far that recovery could take him. - walk? he Would Would he talk? Would he be able to do anything? The questions were many, and there were no answers. The doctors just didnt know. Eventually Ron returned home - but he is now a far different person from the young y happy-go-luck- man who had been working on his truck that December morning. Recovery was slow, and time dragged for the teenager, who was so accustomed to activity, sports and the of senior year at Kearns high At first there were just so many things he couldn't do. Then, as health returned, there were so many things he wasnt allowed to hurry-scurr- y do. The doctors were afraid that pressure of any kind could cause another aneurism.
