Shcrrlck, en-Auditor of Stale, was Hinted at the police station this morning, charged with embezzlement of tho Stute's funds. He waived examination nnd waa bound over to the grand Jury under heavy bond. Sherrlclc looked very broken at tho police po-lice station, and still refused to talk concerning con-cerning tho case, sending all Inquiries to his attorney, Audlson C. Harris. Mrr Harris was with him at the station. Bordered on Collapse. It was after 1 o'clock this morning when Detectives Lancaster and Lowo called at the Shcrrlck home, In West Pratt street. Thn officers found Shcrrlck In a nervous condition bordering on collapse. Dr. C. E. Cottingham wa3 called to tho apartments apart-ments and advised tho detectives to allow al-low Mr. Shcrrlck to stay In his room until un-til this niornliirr. Many Friends Call. Some time after midnight County Auditor Audi-tor Cyrus J. Clark and another man called nnd talked with Mr. Herrlck for some time Earlier In tho night there was a constant stream of callers from among tho friends of Mr. Herrlck. From conversations con-versations that took place within tho hearing of tho detectives. It could bo seen that Shcrrlck was bitter toward tho Governor Gov-ernor for hla action. Gives $15,000 Bond. Shortly after 2 o'clock this afternoon Sherrlclc reappeared beforo Judge Whal-ton, Whal-ton, who held him to nwalt tho action of tho grand Jury and fixed his bond at $15,-0CO. $15,-0CO. The bond was signed by fourteen Individuals and ono trust company. Prosecuting Attorney Charles H. Benedict Bene-dict said today: Grand Jury to Investigate. "The present session of tho Mnrlon county grand jury, which was to havo or.ded this week, will be continued through next week for tho Investigation of tho caso of David E.. SherHck. The grand Jury will also bo asked to Investigate the charges of forgery In tho notes of W. S. WIcknrd, which figure In the case." How Auditor Takes Oath.
