H Blood chairman of the state road commission are pleased to learn that he has consented to run for governor Several of the political politic politic- al friends of the chairman persuaded him to let his name be used The committe consisting of friends from different different different differ differ- ent sections of the state made the announcement Thursday of last week It has been rumored for some sometime sometime sometime time that Mr Blood might consent consent consent con con- sent to be a candidate for the office office office of of- fice of governor but he seems to have had no personal desire to be bea a candidate People from all over the state have been hesitant to commit themselves until they were given assurance that Mr Blood would not be a candidate The Therace Therace Therace race for this nomination will be between Henry H. H Blood and C. C Clarence The he committee announcing the candidacy of Mr Blood take the attitude they are doing a distinct public service recognizing in Mr Blood lood a man of integrity and ability ability ability abil abil- ity capable of serving impartially impartial impartial- ly the many interests of this state Mr Blood is a native of Davis county and spent practically all his life in Kaysville Mr Blood served as a member of the first utilities commission under Governor Governor Governor Gov Gov- Simon Bamberger He held that post for four years and was appointed by Governor Charles R. R Mabey as democratic member of the tEe state road commission selected select select- ed in 1922 Soon after the election election election elec elec- tion of Governor Dern he was made chairman of this commission I and has retained that office since Mr Blood has made a great record In developing roads throughout the state he lie has had many communities to deal with and it would seem natural that he should make some enemies But he lie has handled this situation so impartially and fair that all sections of the state seem to be satisfied No doubt that he would handle all state matters with equal sat sat- |
