Instead of wasting valuable time making up haphazard kits under pressure, we would like to be proactive, making sure the kits are available and ready for use when the need occurs. So please, come to the Valley Market and have a burger with us. All proceeds will go towards the purchase of CERT supplies with the triage kits as the first priority. We will also be handing out CERT and disaster preparedness information, and signing up people for our next training course. We would like to thank the Valley Market for their help and support in this community effort. The first year will feature four races ranging in length from 5km up to a marathon. These races are for all levels from first time trail runner to seasoned trail veteran. The second year will have five races including a 50km and will become Utah’s largest trail running series. By the third year, it is hoped each race is filled to capacity becoming a regional destination for serious trail runners and beginning talks with USA Track and Field to host a National Trail Running Championship event. The race schedule for 2010 will be: Becky Zimmermann, President of Design Workshop, the Snowbasin Resort planners, “This master plan represents extensive site analysis, research, and collaboration with stakeholders to develop a master plan that creates a four-season resort that both enhances the resident and visitor experience at Snowbasin and protects the characteristics of the Valley and the pristine beauty of the area.” The master plan encompasses Snowbasin property in both Weber and Morgan Counties and was planned as one project to ensure compatibility and continuity between the two counties. The Weber County plan includes a hotel, retail, and residential near the existing lodge as well as clustered neighborhoods throughout Weber County and retail and commercial near the intersection of Trappers Loop Road and State Highway 39. The plan for Weber County proposes to develop only twenty percent (20%) of the 3,800 acres, preserving eighty percent (80%) as open space. “While this master plan could span up to 50 years and will be phased as market conditions allow, we are excited to start the process now in order to create a distinctive destination resort,” states Huffman. The rezone application is currently being reviewed by Weber County, as well as other local, state and federal agencies. It is anticipated that meetings on the rezone request will begin in August with the Ogden Valley Planning Commission.
