The Broncos had the ball and a chance to win with five seconds remaining. However, a Taylor Black shot hit the glass and bounced off the rim. Bronco wrestlers The San Juan High School wrestling team traveled to Aztec, New Mexico to participate in a five team dual meet. The Broncos saw some outstanding competi- tion and gained invaluable experience, according to coach David Lacy. The Aztec team is rated 13th in the nation. Lacy said David Hickman, Karson Lacy, Matt Kartchner, Wilbert Eddie, and Jeremy Manheimer all wrestled well. Coach Dennis Jones said the Broncos played a good game defensively and were in a position to win. A few mistakes and missed free throws cost us." Beaver led early, but San Juan stormed back to take a 42-3- 9 lead at the end of the third quarter. Underclassmen Monty Jones and A. J. Mexican scored 14 points each to lead the Broncos. The result is two more losses. Sevier defeated South Monticello 2 behind 36 points by sharp shooting Nick Roberts. Roberts hit 10 three-poishots. Monticello was led by Steve Freestone with 15 points, Landon Day with 13, and Brad Young with 12. When North Sevier hosted Monticello January 7, it was Tweeb Gladwell who burned the nets. Monticello was within four points in the final minutes, but Glad-weled a 16-- 0 North Sevier run to ice the 4 win.
