Show Zone Change Would Allow Apartment House Complex City Council members met Tuesday night and approved a request to change zoning on Block B, Plat A of Mountain View subdivision from R-2 to R-3. This section of land is located between Birch and Aspen As-pen Avenues and continued from Cane Creek Blvd., io the fence line of the established establish-ed subdivision. The change in zoning will allow apartment houses to be built in the area. The change in zoning on that plat will also require a change in an existing ordinance ordin-ance governing the R-3 zoning zon-ing designation. Presently R-3 areas may allow private clubs, and lodges to be located within with-in their bounds. Some opposition opposi-tion to this has been registered register-ed and with the new change, private clubs and lodges will only be allowed in Comrner- cial-1 zones. This will not affect af-fect the clubs which are already al-ready established. A public hearing on the changes will be held in the next few weeks, according to Mayor Winford Bunce. Also discussed was the hiring hir-ing of a mechanic for the City, however, no decision was reached rea-ched on this pending receipt of additional applications. The subject of the proposed purchase of Utah Gas Service Company was once again discussed dis-cussed with some opposition to the purchase still evident in the Council ranks. A general decision was reached by the . men that to settle the issue, it would be put on the November Novem-ber ballot to give residents a change to voice their opinion on the matter. More discussion discus-sion of the purchase is scheduled sched-uled during the next few weeks. |
