Show CIHClKNATI. Tiie presidential candidates having been presented with the usual flourish of trumpets, the convention will pro-' ceed to ballot this morning. The iriends of the various candidates still adhere to their favorites; but the opinion prevailed yesterday forenoon that Blaine had been weakened by the continued efforts of all the opposing op-posing candidates. Speculations on the probable result are unnecessary, as the nominations will probably be made within the next twelve hours. Our late dispatches will give the situation situ-ation of aflairs at Cincinnati up to midnight. Tho only portions of the platform which excited any debate were those in reference to finances and Chinese emigration. |
