Show July 12, 1968 THE EUREKA (UTAH) REPORTER Young at Hearts Vietnam experiences hold luncheon, Douglas Sandstrom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Carl Sandstrom, arrived in Eureka Tuesday morning from a two-yestay in Vietnam, where business session ar The Young at Heart Club met last Wednesday afternoon in Memorial Building. A luncheon preceded the meeting, and the tables were very attractive with beautiful flowers, fruit arrangements, and a beautiful birthday cake centered the dining table. There were 85 pres- ent was announced that the afghan given away by the club was given to Cheryl Dickey of Payson. Happy Birthday was sung by the members to Byron Sorensen. It President Pansy Treloar pre- sided at the business session, and the secretary and treasurer reports were given by Rachael Hannifin. Mrs. Berry was ill and unable to attend, so Mrs. Hannifin read both reports. A program followed the business meeting. Lorin Thompson gave a poem entitled "If You Are Busy, and 'This Is Your Life" was given for Lillian Finch by Emma Lewis. Mr. Thompson showed some very interesting films taken by Mrs. Earlene Gear on her recent trip to Alaska. Rachael Hannifin was the narrator for the films. The door prizes were won by Florence Fields and Edgar Finch. The club decided to enter a couple of floats for the Pioneer Day celebration to be held in Eureka Wednesday, July 24. Needless to say, it was a most happy reunion for all. He had many g interesting and reports to tell about his trip. He and his parents sincerely hope that he will not have to return to that part of the world. His stay in Eureka will have to be short, but it was a most welcome one for his parents. party An MIA group of Eureka enjoyed an outing at Saratoga Resort Monday evening. They had a watermelon bust, enjoyed a picnic lunch, swimming, and took in as many of the concessions as time would allow. Mrs. Alice Fox and Mrs. Christensen accompanied them on the trip. Elks meet Ladies of Elks met in lar session last Tuesday regueven- ing in the Elks' Clubrooms with President Ina Clement conducting. A regular business meeting was held, followed by a social evening with bridge furnishing the diversion. Prizes were won by Alliene Farren, Faye Wall and Fawn Fife. At the conclusion of the card games Leona Laird, hostess for the meeting, served tasty refreshments. Modern Mrs. travel Members of the Modern Mrs. Club drove to Provo Tuesday evening where they attended the movie, "Green Berets at a theatre. After the show they stopped for frefreshments before returning to Eureka. Those making the trip were Mrs. Joseph Bernini, Mrs. Curtis Butler, Mrs. Frank MeCabe, Mrs. Bob Fife, Mrs. Jerald Drussell, Mrs. as everyone stops to look at the three little bundles of energy. Her son and family, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Van Wagoner and their six children of San Jose, Calif, arrived here Saturday evening.
