Kearns Marlins Start Tryouts The Kearns Marlins, the local swimming team, is announcing tryouts for its summer season. Any boy or girl who has a little swimming ability and wants to work with the Marlins this summer is welcome to tryout Monday May 13th at 4 oclock p.m. at the Kearns Community Swimming Pool across the street from the Kearns High School. There will be no charge for trying out, but those who wish to stay with the team through the summer are expected to take lessons to improve their strokes and to pay a small membership fee. In less than two years since the team was organized, the Marlins have gained recognition as one of the strongest In the teams in the area. Intermountain Championship Meet held last Swimming month, the Kearns team placed a strong second, with eight members winning first place and setting new records. This summers competition starts on the 15th of June. There will be several local swimming meets as well as the Denver Trophy Meet, the Twin Falls Invitational, and the Western Regionals at Pueblo, Colorado and the Far West Regionals at Los Altos, California for the advanced com- l. ' petitors. The Junior Olympics at the B.Y.U. will close thesummer season in mid August with the whole team participating. Last year Kearns placed fifth place at the Junior Olympics, but this August, they plan on being number one. Coaches Larry Tracy and Dale Nelson are looking for- ward to a good summer of swimming. They hope to see a lot of new swimmers at the tryouts as well as the returning team. First Aid Fast He advises, "Change diapers regularly. Clean baby with oil or lotion to avoid diaper rash.
