Show VALLEY GOLDEN EAGLE PASSPORTS NOW AVAILABLE Golden Eagle Passports, which will admit the holder to hundreds of recreation areas throughout the United States, are available at seven Bureau of Reclamation offices in Region 4, Director David L. Crandall announced today. The passports may be purchased at Room 6223 Federal Building, 125 South State St. Salt Lake City; or at Bureau of Reclamation offices in Grand Junction and Montrose, Colorado; Page, Arizona; Duchesne, Ogden, and Provo, Utah. Cost of the GoldenEagle Passport remains at $7, the same as last year. Of 33 Reclamation - constructed reservoir areas in 7 have been desig- Region 4, nated by the Federal administering agencies as fee areas under the Golden Eagle program. These include Glen Canyon National Recreation Area (Lake Powell), Flaming Gorge RecUtah-Arizo- VIEW NEWS tax, and the sale of U.S. surplus real property. Grants from the Fund are made to the 0 various states on a cost sharing basis for the acquisition and development of recreation area. The Golden Eagle program is designed to provide more outdoor recreation opportunities through the Land and Water Conservation Fund. The Fund derives revenues from Federal recreation fees, the Federal motorboat fuels PAGE Fees from Federal recreation areas over the last three years have produced more than $26,000,000 for the Land and Water Conservation Fund. Of that amount, $10,000,000 was derived from the sales of the annual $7 Federal recreation area permit, popularly known as the Golden Eagle Passport. The Passport is valid for a full year starting April.
