Show Thursday, June 23, 2011 The Gunnison Valley Gazette Page 5 The Tiburones bring home bronze The Gunnison Valley Tiburones soccer team brought home the bronze medal this week from the Utah Summer Games. Their first game on Wednesday was a heartbreaking 2-1 loss against the Cedar City Falcons.The Falcons scored first but Gunnison quickly replied with a goal of their own. Half time saw them tied. The strong wind made shots erratic, and in the second half, the Falcons got a shot in. Gunnison was unable to find the net and the game ended 2-1. Thursday had the Gunnison team playing in two games. First was a shut-out of Sevier soccer out of Richfield and Monroe. They are a new, struggling team and Gunnison won 8-0. The second game was also a shutout, but the other way. The Sanpete Crew won 6-0. On Friday the Tiburones played Enoch United.
