Show i 5 The Herald, in a somewhat self-; self-; laudatory article, remarked tho other day that tho newspapers of Salt Lake ittre live years ahead of the city. Thero i never was a truer thing said. Three of i the newspapers the Tribune, tho Iler-j Iler-j j aid and Tun Timks are equipped with I perfecting presses, stereotype appara-ij appara-ij tus, and all the appliances of modern -metropolitan journals. When it is i taken into consideration that there are ;! three papers having perfecting presses ; i in a city of only 50,000 people, ami the !( population divided by a very distinct i line, it is something remarkable. Tho ' papers speak for themselves. They are enterprising, newsy and progressive, i, and propose to keep ahead of the city. ! They are doing nioro than any other i' element to build up Salt Lake, and for that reason they deserve the most liberal support. The appearance and character of our newspapers make a i most favorable impression upon visitors and the outside world generally, and go i to demonstrate that Salt Lake is a go-; go-; ahead city full of western push and U vigor. |
