Show . i Ancient Bathe The Roman bath was heated In the same way as the Persian bath, and exactly the same system Is still used In every town and village In Persia today. There Is a large copper or Iron plate In the bottom of the masonry ma-sonry hot water tank ; the heat of the furnace Is led beneath this, and then under the floor of the hot room, which Is supported on low brick pillars, pil-lars, just as In the case of the Roman Ro-man baths. There are flues In three of the walls, which not only are chimneys but also heat the room still further. By a system of dampers the heat can be both regulated und dl verted from one part of the room to another. i .,.,. |
