They came for the wedding reception of Miss Stephanie Brough who was married on Friday to Bart Butterfield. AT 50 cents a ride, hundreds of Kaysville children took a ride with Galley" and his train during the Kaysville 24th of July celebration. Galley re calls that 32 years ago he sold rides for just 10 cents. Galley Mann and his train and his cotton candy machine have been in great demand over the years at birthday parties. where he charges by the hour for store openings, cub scout events, carnivals and community celebrations. He has traveled the state pleasing children in Hyrum, Wcllsville, Logan, West Jordan, Lehi and many others. GERALD MANN met his wife, the former Ruth Hayes, while they were both attending Davis High School. They made their home in Kaysville where Ruth had been bom and reared. For some reason, no one knows. Dr. D. Keith Barnes called him "Galley." The name stuck and the man w ho builds fun rides has been affectionately called by this name ever since. THE FIRST fun ride Galley built was a bucking car. He then added his train and some airplanes that swing around and around. The airplanes were later abandoned because they were so cumbersome to move from place to place. He then bought a cotton candy machine which his wife and daughter. Each person bringing an item should write a brief description of its history and include her name and camp to be placed by the item on display. The DUP is a national organization with members in all 50 states. The objective of this organization is to perpetuate the names and achievements of the men, women and children who were the pioneers in founding the Utah territory by preserving landmarks, collecting relics and histories, manuscripts, photographs, maps, etc. by reviewing the lives of the pioneers thus teaching their descendants and the citizens of our country lessons of faith , courage and fortitude and patriotism.
